There's nothing like a Furby...
(well except all the clone toys that followed)
Furby's - those cute little creatures that can talk to you, play with you, and be your friend... well if you have nothing better to do.
I have to say these were a breakthrough as toys go. I remember reading about this in WIRED, a tech magazine that I read, long before they were being advertised on tv or out on the shelves. And of course like any good "craze" these were flying off the shelves as fast as they were being put on... for awhile.
They were the big Christmas toy, a must have, and when you didn't get one you were probably on a waiting list to get one as soon as more came in. ( I was one of those people ) But I ended up getting a surprise, getting 2 from a good friend on Christmas day and then getting one later when it came in from my Grandmother. So I have 3 (maybe a picture coming someday if I get around to it), one black, one white, and one gray. They are cute little things and fun to play with for a short time, but sadly I must say that usually they spend a few months sleeping until one gets bumped and wakes up or I feel the need to awaken them one day. But all in all this was a quality craze and even though like all others it had to die down, this one had remnant potential that it actually fulfilled.
So if Furby's are your fun, go for it! (but brush up on your Furbish first!)
