- You remember those video disc thingies that you slid into the player, which then spit the plastic case back out, then halfway through the movie, you had to put it back in and back out and flip the thing over for the rest. They were about the size of a record. What were those things called anyway?
- You have casettes that have little blips every few songs because you recorded them from 8-tracks.
- You watched Princess Diana get married.
- Your teachers went through heck trying to get kids to call the USSR the USSR and not Russia.
- You admire how the new Care Bears look like they fell through a time warp but you hate what they've done to My Little Pony.

- York Peppermint Patties, Dolly Madison bakery stuff, and "Peanuts" holiday specials are forever linked in your mind because the peppermint patties and bakery stuff always advertised during the specials.
- You remember computers finally coming to your school and your teacher looking at the one in your classroom like it would blow up.
- You had to have "Z Caverrici" (I think that's how you spell it) jeans.
- You and your friends all used that pastel colored looseleaf paper even though the teachers hated it.
- You have worn three different colors of eyeshadow on the same eyelid.
- You remember when your family got their first microwave.
- You remember when Iran was all over the news and nobody ever heard of Iraq.
- You remember when "floppy discs" really were floppy.
