Ok, you've probably heard it a million times in your life. COPYRIGHT, don't copy, how hard is that to understand? I don't think it's that hard, yet it is for some people. People work hard on their graphics. And some people will just take them, and even worse say they made them themselves or earned them when they didn't. I haven't had a major problem with this, but to everyone who asks me about using my graphics before they take them, THANK YOU! It's not just graphics though, it's ideas. I must say I have had a little problem with that. Certain ORINGIAL ideas I have had and created have been taken and I have found them on the internet. Some people were at least kind enough to take a button and link back to my site, and others will at least ask, but by that point, so many people have taken the idea already, one more doesn't seem like anything. Now that sounds terrible and look where it gets a person. Why can't people come up with their own ideas and things instead of taking other peoples. If more people were like that, the net would be a BETTER PLACE right? Well, that depends on who you are on the net. But I guess you never know, some people might really get something out of taking things. However, I think why that is will always be beyond me. I don't mind someone asking me if they can use certain graphics from my site. But that doesn't mean that I can always promise that if you ask you can. I let people use whatever I got for FREE, otherwise, it isn't up to me to let other people use graphics that I don't own to give away. Some people have let me use graphics that they made. Others are free web graphics, and many are ones that I have created MYSELF. I work hard on my graphics as well, and I don't like it when people take without asking first. Some people will even go and link from my site. If you see this happening, you can almost be sure that this person is stealing graphics.. not to metion slowing someones page. The time it takes to load a graphic from someone elses site only slows down the stealer's loading time as well as the server of the person who actually took the time to upload the graphics themselves. Some people have special problems that force them to link from another site then where there main page is created, but that doesn't justify the rest of the people who just copy and have no reason too. So the point is.. WHY COPY? If you like something so much, let the owner know and maybe they wouldn't mind if you used it on your page too. But if you take it, 8 times out of 10 they are going to find out; whether someone from there site sees it, or they themselves. What people need to do, many, not all, is learn some respect. You don't take in REAL LIFE without buying or asking, so why should you be able to on the INTERNET. Sure, it's not exactly the same, but culture, conmunication, friendship, relationships, and everthing else exists in both so why not RESPECT? Ok, if you're still reading, I do have a purpose in writing this. I am tired of seeing things on peoples pages that shouldn't be there.. people even take awards and pretend they won them ( no links back mind you ) so what does that prove? You didn't earn it. Again what's the point. And people might not find out.. but still that doesn't do anyone any good if you can't even place a simple link from where you got some, even if its one, of your graphics. Ok now I really am about to finish. I just wanted to put something up on my site about how I FELT. Like I said, there are so many free graphics out there, why people have to take ones that aren't for the taking is beyond me. So I hope these words make some sense, and if just one person reads it and understands, then it will have been worth it. Just remember what I said, and remember that you wouldn't want something like that to happen to you, so just watch what you do too.
