articles, stories, dreams, comments, etc... the only thing that can make this newsletter
great is all of you. We have well over 500 members, and growing each week. So if you know
anyone who would like to join, please let me know :) I'm very sorry that I haven't been
able to do too much with the club site this week, but I've been busy with my own site - Meg's Place
Articles & Stories
From: becky@dragnet.com.au (Rebecca
Stokes) Some of us Beatles fans are moving on in
years being born in Sydney Aust. in 1958.I remember sitting on my roof of my house when I
was very young watching the Beatles plane fly over as it flew into Sydneys local airport.
It was such an event just to be part of the whole memory. Some years later a lady who
holidayed with us in the Snow told me of her days as an air hostess and in particular when
she was chosen to work the plane the Beatles were travelling on around Australia. She
spent most of her time talking with John and said he really was an incredible personality.
This may have also been the time there was a problem with getting a drummer for the tour.
She was fortunate enough to get quite a unique gift off John:: in typical Lennon style,
she received a T.A.A.(an Aust. airline at the time)embossed brown paper 'SICK BAG"
signed by all four; now considered quite a rare piece.Thank God none of them did'nt have
to use it! On another occasion my best friend was walking along Palm Beach Sydney &
came across a couple of lads who were reasonably well known around the planet, Paul &
George. There was no one else around and here is my mate talking to possibly part of the
most group of musicians the world will ever know. After talking with them for a while he
did not even get a signature,, silly fellow, he said it just didn't feel right to ask they
were having such a natter about anything but themselves. Well suppose, they would get
tired of hearing about themselves all the time. My most treasured Beatles posession is a
Bootleg Copy of the Beatles Black Album which appears to record the writing of the songs
on Let It Be with them actually calling out the notes when working on Let It Be and
working out various ways of playing it. A very interesting Album. With a lot of general
chat. These days I like to listen to old Lennon melodies Such as "Working Class
Hero" truly a classic and very representative of John at the time. Any how 'What Goes
on ; Life Goes On' and no truer word was sung when we heard " There are places I'll
remember all my life though some have changed" as with all things change is life but
the memories even those of the Fab 4 will never change ........a magical era......very
fond memories that will last & last & last Happy 1st Birthday, you did "say
its your BIRTHDAY" didn't you Regards, The Walrus From:
LucyInSky5 Beatle experiences??? Sure.....let me
just tell you all about the best day of my life. It was the magical day of June 3rd that I
sat in my classes with my friends as we watched the clock endlessly waiting for school to
be over. As we passed each other in the halls and saw each other in classes we all
exchanged radiant smiles and wishful glances that we were already there. The four of us
had acquired 10th row tickets to see Ringo and his all starr band in concert that night.
Maybe to some people this didn't seem like a big deal, but as devout fans hoping to
capture some flashacks of the Beatlemania that we missed, it was the world. We drove the
Garden State Arts center in my friends red convertible with the top down and Beatles music
blasting. We were all shaking with excitement as we walked down to our groovey 10th row
seats. When Ringo came out, let me tell you, I almost died. We all had to reming
each other to keep on breathing. The second song that Ringo sang was Act Naturally...I
have always concidered this my song for various reasons. Well....I could not handle it, I
cried. And at that moment, it all became perfectly clear to me. For the first time I
discovered for myself what it felt like to be one of those girls in A Hard Day's
Night.....you all know who I'm talking about, the screaming, crying, crazy, delerious
fans. And during the hours of that concert, I not only had the most fun I've ever had in
my life, but my dream came true. Of course it doesn't compare to actually living druing
the 60's, but we 90's kids have to take what we can get. I know I'll never be able to say
that I went to a Beatle's concert, but at least I can say what me and my crazy friends
announced around school the next day.....WE SAW A BEATLE!!!!! From: RollUp4MMT ok i got this article the other day on Paul and some guy named
Helmut Kohl.
Beatle Dreams
From: Jade324 Usually my dreams about the Beatles are short and dumb, but this one was pretty cool:I was living in Ireland and the Beatles were staying with my family for a little while. It was before they got really famous. Anyway they slept upstairs and I was upstairs talking to them, and Paul was telling us this really funny story and we were laughing so my family's maid (I don't really have one, but in the dream we did) started yelling at us and we were mimicking her and stuff. The next morning it was raining and we were having a little basketball game in their room, except there was no basket, so it was really just keep-away. We were playing against some little girls who were kind of mean. John was pretending to be playing football instead and we were all laughing at him and Paul tackled him. Then I woke up. My Dream
Hello. I would like to tell you and the members of Fab Four Forever about
a Extroudarny exciting awsome dream I had(I'm not that great of a speller).
Anyways.......here it goes: Well first off,I don't know where this dream started off.
Anyways....I dreapt that Ringo Starr was my brother,John Lennon my Step-Brother and George
Harrison,my cusion. And Paul McCartney was not relaited to us(it get's better don't
worry.poor old paul isn't left out). So...one day while they were all recording and I was
watching them, along with Brian E,and their producer George Martin. We were getting into
the music, and them for some reason I got the giggles. Then I got John to start
laughing, and then everyone was laughing. So they decided to take a little break and we all
went out for dinner(yes brian & george came along too). Then we got out to eat,and my
dream comes to the part in HELP! where the bealtes are at that little place and john find
a seaon ticket in his soup(you get the idea) Then after that we go back to the Studio. And
we fooled around with Ringo's Drums and he got all mad and then we all started
laughing, even Ringo. So about a week goes by,and like nothing happens. So when that week
went by,the next day they had a concert. And Paul(who i had a crush on my whole life)
dedicates this song to me,and i thought it would be HELP! because they were always joknig
around like i needed help. But it wasn't. It was And I Love Her and then after the
song, paul ask's me out(cool huh?) So we got out for 6yr's and then we end up getting
married:o) From: BeatleLEAH I had a dream once that I was in an elevator, and so was this
other lady. She was wearing a red dress and I was wearing a shirt that said "John
Lennon, for ever" on it, and I had just come from a store called "Past and
Presents" with a Beatles poster in my hand and a Beatle's coffe mug, one more John
Lennon shirt, and Beatle pens. All of a sudden, John, Paul, George, and Ringo stepped on.
I was goind hysterical in my mind, but they didn't see me and my John Lennon shirt in the
back of the elevator. The lady said "Are you who I think you are?" They nodded,
saying "Shh! We don't want people knowing we're here." The lady nodded.
"Well I'm a real big fan of yours! Can I have your autograph?" She asked. They
gave it to her, and started carrying on a conversation. Then the lady got off the elevator
on her floor. Then I said "hi" to them. We became great friends and I went
shopping with them all the time. We had family get-togethers alot and we were always
friends. Then my Mom and Dad told me I should go into elevators alot, since I met the
beatles there, you never know who i mite see next. The last thing I remember in my dream
was that I was doing what my parents told me to, in an elevator, and then I saw bill
Clinton. From: RollUp4MMT I've had a bunch of Beatle dreams

Special comments on the whole Peace or Piece issue -
Note From The President: Hi Everyone - I think that it's about time that I stopped this. We already had the person who first brought up the topic quit because he didn't mean for any of this to start when he wrote it. I should have stopped this long before this - but finally I am. There will be no comments about this topic in the newsletter anymore - I think that these 2 following comments should be read because it pretty much sums up this whole problem. Thank you. -Meg President From: Jade324 I would like to make a comment about this "Peace/Piece of Mind" debate. First of all John wrote music for people to enjoy and not to fight about, since of course it is open to anyone's personal interpretation, like an opinion, and all this fighting isn't very peaceful, more pointless, so think of it this way, it's for John, and we want to carry on his dream of a peaceful world, right? Okay, having said that I hope that maybe everyone can just shut up about this, it's getting really boring. Peace, Love, Lennon, @lice From: Aplskruff I can't believe that people are actually arguing this peace/piece thing. I asked the source, and got the correct answer!! O.K., now you're saying to yourselves, sure, just ask John, right? Well, I did and so can you!!! All you have to do is look at the lyrics on whatever you have, album, CD or cassette. These are the copyrighted words of John Lennon, as he wrote them and how he wanted them to be read, sung, and interpreted. It is PEACE of mind. END OF DISCUSSION!!!! Peace and Love, Aplskruff From: walehead@bellatlantic.net (Ms.Kite) I'd like to reply to the article by Windchild about Mark Chapman. He was given 20 years in jail. And it was in Dec. on 1980 that he shot John. So, in other words unless Chapman was bad in jail, he will be out and free in the year 2000. Does that scare anyone besides me?? For all we know he could go stalk Yoko, since he has made various calls to her from jail all of which she does not answer. What will he do? Will he kill another harmless person? Or go for someone like the president or a celebrity to gain more attention? We don't know! And it looks like we'll just have to wait until Dec. of 2000 to find out. ~Ms.Kite walehead@bellatlantic.net http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Studio/9842 http://www.angelfire.com/nc/NowhereLand/ From: TeaMocker << From: Essex83 I would like to respond to the LSD argument. You said that John Lennon said it wasn't about LSD! Of course John Lennon wouldn't say, " yeah this song is about LSD because I like the experience!" Do you want the drug police to get him. We REALLY don't know so.........................don't state a fact they may be untrue!>> John stated in more than one interview that the idea came from a picture his young son drew of a friend in school. Julian brought it home and told him it was his friend Lucy, in the sky -- with diamonds. It sounded like a good idea. Why is that so difficult for people to understand? Simply because it happens to abbreviate to L.S.D, there is definitely some hidden meaning. The patch Paul wore on his arm on the Sgt. Pepper cover (well, it wasn't Paul, but it represented Paul) read O.P.D, so fans decided it was "Officially Pronounced Dead" and the real Paul was dead. It was a city's police department. You see how well everything works out when you pay attention to people? I have a scanned picture of the drawing Julian brought home. Would that help? It is, indeed, Lucy, in the sky... with diamonds. Kristina From: Jbeatles I think issue 11 was shorter. I liked it that way. the other issues were too long and boring. this one was a good length. Also , if u find out the teen who wrote the first unknown writer article, p lease send their email address to me. Thanx! A piece of peace to you.
