What's Going On With Meg

9/1/00 - Well the weekend is finally here, but I still don't think it feels like summer is over. The big thing that makes me realize it is that just about all of my good friends have left for college by now. Some of them left as early as August 18th and some don't leave for another couple of weeks yet, but for me it just feels different since I always come home at the end of the day and most of my friends are all further away and at their dorms at their schools. I'm going up to visit my best friend at her school this weekend, so I'll get a taste of how different it is to go to a big school compared to mine in Philadelphia. I know there are a lot of differences, but it all comes down to basically the same thing I suppose. I have so much to think about lately. I've had 3 days worth of classes so far, but nothing too bad yet. Even homework has been near nothing and hopefully it will stay that way. The most I should have going is studying, labs, writing papers, or reading to do though. I was going to list all my classes and times but I decided that it'd be best just to do that once on my All About Me page, so it should be there soon if you'd like to check that out. I have walked around Philadelphia so much in this past week. Just about every day we have walked miles worth of city blocks getting the feel for our area and figuring out where everything is (and how NOT to turn in the wrong direction when all of your choices are based on a block system). I think we are all getting the hang of it though and everything has just been so great so far. All the people I met are amazing, so nice and friendly. You only have to run into someone new for a few minutes and almost instantly you are into a conversation and leave it knowing them. You walk around the city and you just see all these people you know because we all go to the school together and we are everywhere lol. Everyone I've met has been so interesting too. Since my college is an art school (covering art, photography, dance, acting, singing, instruments, writing, communication, and multimedia <me>) and you had to audition no matter what your major was going to be, everyone there is already very talented at what they do so everyone has something to offer and teach you. I am looking forward to week two already, but I'm also glad to have a little long weekend at home to get back to normal a bit too. It's going to give me the chance I need to fully get adjusted. I got a new laptop about 2 weeks ago and I need to get some more things setup on that this weekend too. I also have some things coming up for my stie, I haven't forgotten about it, and although I will probaly be very busy with school and work going on now, I still fully intend to keep up with this site and create many new sections and surprises along the way. I just need a little time to get everything going, but I'm sure you all won't be disappointed. I'm also always looking for new suggesetions because at this point in my life, which I do intend to have this site mature where needed and stay open for everyone to enjoy it I am also ready to expand it even further and take it even further then it's ever gone before. Of course I couldn't do any of this without you and I just want to say a big thanks for that. So that's about all for now, I will attempt to keep the updates here coming more often to let you know how my college life is going etc... so until next time!
9/21/00 - Well it's time for college life update #2. I can't believe today is the last day of summer either! It's been great and it doesn't seem like we've had a month of school already. Well it's more just getting into the fourth week if I'm thinking correctly, but it's still great. I've met so many more amazing people and made some really good friends. My classes are all pretty good, a few are boring but none of the work has been too horrible yet. My week starts out with Monday and Tuesday as my busiest and longest/latest days, but then I only have 1 class in the afternoon on Wednesdays and Fridays and then only 2 classes on Thursdays which is also around the afternoon, so I can live :) So anyway, other things... well I've settled in to my daily routine and even cut back my time because I used to get into Philly so early before class and I had just kill a lot of time, now I'm getting used to making sure I go a little later, so lately I've been getting there much more comfortably close to my class times. I've found some cool places to go and other good places to eat among other things while wandering around the city with my friends. Though mostly we have cut down the wandering now that classes have kicked in and do most of our walking with a purpose, like to eat or mail things or go to the bank, etc. I spend a lot of my time at the dorms even though I don't actually live there. Other things non school related, I went to Villanova University to see Stroke 9 last Thursday. I've been keeping very busy with things it seems. By the time I get home from class I get any work done that I need too, work on real work, and then there is some time to sleep... you know? But I do hope to have some good updates going on here within the next week or two. But for now, I will finish up. Until next time!
