Links & Things

These are just a few links that might help you out with some more html help and also some more extras for your site.  I hope they help!

HTML Goodies - This site contains a lot of good tutorials for making different things with HTML.  I have heard that it's really good, and whether you're just starting out or an expert, you just might be able to learn a thing or two at this site.

Java Goodies - This site is part of the one above, except it is all about java.  It's great for finding the java scripts that are right for your site as well as good instructions on how to use them.

Matt's Script Archive - This is the ultimate cgi script resource on the net.  Matt has tons upon tons of scripts for you for just about anything.  Forms, guestbooks, counters, and so much more.

Dream Catchers Cgi Scripts - This site also has a small collection of some nice cgi scripts if you can't seem to find what you are looking for.

ZY.com - This site is pretty new.  You can make your own free web graphics.  I haven't seen anything like this before.  You can type in the text you want and it will make you a shadow or 3d title graphic or an animated rotating one instantly for free.  Quick & simple, a great way to spice up your site.

CGI Buttons - This simple little service will let you count down to certain events.  Two nice ones will let you countdown to your birthday and to the year 2000.  You place a simple cut and paste code into your html and a cute graphic will appear that you pick with the remaining number of days.

Bright.net - This site offers a few easy to use cgi scripts for a clock, counter, date, and mail scripts.  Very simple and worth a try if you are looking for one of these things.

Freedback - (formally known as freeform) If you aren't really ready to make your own forms yet, why not try this site.  It asks a series of questions to find out just what you need and then it creates the html you need as well as takes care all the responses sent to you from the form.  If you are looking for forms, you should look here.

RGB Color Chart - If you are looking to add a little more color to your site then just the same old colors, this site might just help you out.  It has a nice color chart showing you the codes for a good variety of colors.

Animated Banner Maker - This is a little online site that will let you create a simple banner graphic with animation and text.

Button Maker - This site will take a regular gif image and turn it into a button.   It can even be animated already.  Could be very useful.

Net Thingies - This site offers a nice listing of free things you can get for your website.  Images, chat, space, guestbooks, you name it.

Selena Sol's CGI Scripts - A small collection of some cgi scripts that might be useful if you are trying to learn more about cgi or just add some extra things to your website.

Color Center - This site offers a very cool color chart that is setup much like that of a color bar in a paint program.   It also allows you to preview what the colors will look like together on a page.   Very nicely done.

The Free Site - This site metions a lot more than just free web stuff, it also has some cool general free stuff you might also want to check out while your at it.  It does list a few sections on website related things too.

Character List - Have you ever needed to figure out the code to make a & sign or maybe #, %, or ^ signs?   If you wanted to do this without using the actual key on your keyboard, you could use the codes found at this site to make them show up on your page.

Angelfire Help Page - This is going to really help some of you I think.  I don't know how many times I have been asked for extra help with Angelfire.  I really wish I could help people, but a lot of the time I don't know enough about Angelfire to help very much.  Now you just need to check out this site, it should help you out a lot with all your Angelfire questions.

SlamBook - I don't have one of these myself, but I've seen quite a few on pages throughout the web.  It's setup similiar to a guestbook, but for this you setup your own questions for people to answer, and their answers are posted as well as other peoples answers and it's interesting to see what everyone has to say.  If you are looking for something a little different to add to your site, give this site a visit and check these out.

Find Here - This site offers a free subdomain.   You should really check out this site to read more about it as it's hard for me to explain it all right here.  But if you are looking for a shorter url for your website, give this site a look.  And you can't beat the price.... it's FREE!

Page Talk - This page allows you to record a 20 second message by phone for free and then they will make that sound file into real audio format and allow you to stream it from their site.

Senac - Free Webmaster Utilities that you won't want to miss.  This site offers a number of things that can be useful on a website such as polls, guestbooks, and message board forums.  There is tons more so be sure to give this site a look if you are looking for some of these features for your own site but don't want to bother coding them yourself.

HTML Savvy - Teen HTML Help site that's great for just about anyone.  Clearly explains many basic tags and adds in a bunch of cool stuff in the process.  If you still haven't found what you are looking for to make your website the way you want it, or you are just looking for a refresher on how to do things, check this site out.  Very well done and simply explained.
