:::Writer's Inspirations Mag:::
Interviews:
Have you always had a domain name for your webpage, or is www.megsplace.com just a
recent update?
I have had www.megsplace.com for almost 2 years now, but I had been running my site
Meg's Place for a year before I got my domain too.
Does it take more work to have a domain than just a free page on geocities or angelfire
etc.?
I actually see having a domain easier than using free pages, but that is just my opinion.
I love being able to use ftp to upload my images quickly ( the way I use to do it made me
do one file at a time ) and even though I always made my site on my own and uploaded all
the images, there weren't so many free web page choices when I was doing it, and from the
few free sites at the time, not many of them offered what i was looking for. But I think
the amount of work someone puts into their site is always just how much they want to and
are able to put into it, it doesn't really matter where their site is at.
How did you advertise your page?
I really don't do much to advertise my site. I'm told by some people who contact me that
usually they find my site through a link from someone elses site or mostly world of mouth.
I run a number of different things like Net Nerds, which have links back to my site, so
while that isn't really advertising, I guess when people use things from my site and make
links to my site, that is mostly where my future visitors come from.
What was the best part about creating a webpage?
The best thing to me about creating a webpage is sharing a part of yourself with everyone
else on the web. You are able to let everyone know more about your interests and
feelings, as well as create a place that they can visit and relate to as well as discover
new things they didn't know about before.
Do you have any tips for people who want to start a webpage?
This is more in the line of advice then a tip really, but I always tell people to remember
to have fun with their site. Make it something you would like to visit first and then
worry about other people want. That isn't meant to sound like a selfish view but if you
don't enjoy your website, how are others supposed to? And if you don't like working on
your site then there is a chance it's not going to stay up long or get worked on very
often.
How many people visit your page everyday? (approx.)
I get somewhere between 400-600 visitors each day, sometimes weekends and things are
busier, especially during the school year it seems.
Thank you for doing this interview with Inspirations...any closing comments?

there is anything else you need just let me know.
